ALAN DAVEY – Living well
I was born in the Hawkes Bay. I have three older brothers and two younger brothers (we couldn’t afford sisters) . I left home when I was 16 to seek my fame and fortune in the dairy industry in the Waikato. I married Ginni when I was 27 and we have three adult children and five grandchildren.
I farmed for 18 yrs, and at the age of 33 we sold our herd of cows bought a ten-acre block 7kms out of Morrinsville and built our home where we still live today.
After leaving farming I worked for a Private Training Provider for 11 yrs as a Work Based Training Coordinator placing unemployed people into work experience with the goal of gaining employment. I moved from there to take up a position as the Assistant Pastor at Morrinsville Baptist Church (I became a Christian at the age of 27) where my role was primarily Counselling and Pastoral Care.
Desiring to be more available to a wider network of people I resigned from my role with the Church in July of 2017 to start a Private Counselling Practice based from our home. I now also run seminars throughout the Waikato and beyond on ‘living well’ and ‘Getting the reins back of our lives’.
I work with individuals and couples, from school age to any other age dealing with as wide a range of issues as the client might bring.
I believe that most of us have been affected by unmet needs, unhealed hurts and unresolved issues and the like, and unless we find some way of processing and dealing with these we will continue to struggle with there influence in our lives.
My focus is to support couples and individuals out of pain and suffering and into a life of purpose and freedom.
I provide a non-judgmental, confidential space for clients to come to.
My goal with each session is to support my client to find real and lasting tools skills and insights that will enable them to live the life of freedom they long for.
I love what I do.
