I was born in Waipukurau in the Hawkes Bay. I have five brothers, three older and two younger. I left home when I was 16 to seek my fame and fortune in the dairy industry (in other words I was starting to get in a bit of trouble at home and the Waikato was far far away ).
Prior to starting my private practice, my background was varied. I had been a dairy farmer for 18 years, a Work Based Training Co-ordinator for 11 years which involved supporting people seeking employment, and a Church Pastor for 13 years.
I enjoy sharing life with Ginni my wife of 30 years. We have three adult children, two of whom are married. We also have the joy of having seven grandchildren.
Through a large part of my working life I have been involved in enabling and empowering people to grow and change and I have intentionally undertaken professional training to equip myself to do this well.
My knowledge and skills have developed through many years of personal development, professional training and life.
I believe that there is always something new to learn and I make a regular commitment to on-going professional development.
I work with individuals and couples, from school age to any other age dealing with as wide a range of issues as the client might bring.
Within my practice I offer counselling, supervision, mentoring / life coach.
My focus is to support couples and individuals out of pain and suffering and into a life of purpose and freedom.
I provide a non-judgmental, confidential space for clients to come to.
My goal with each session is to support my client to find real and lasting tools skills and insights that will enable them to live the life of freedom they long for.
For more on my view on why I long to see folk find emotional freedom check out the ‘Just a Thought’ tab or click Ouch that hurt.
Outside of work my interests involve wood work, family and fishing.
